SPEAKER_02Yeah, we back at it again, man. Can you believe it? It is the first season of this podcast. This is episode 10, which marks one complete season. We started in September of 2025, and um I have been here with you uh alone with my tribe, my family. Shout out to Charles and Craig and uh Chrissy and Pimpsy, and and y'all can't forget my brother Jafar. Yes, indeed. Oh, yes indeed.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, he's back today, right? He gonna close it out with me. What's up, brother? How you feeling? Man, I'm feeling great. I thought you were about to say, instead of episode 10, I thought you were about to say, this is epic. I'm telling you, because I'm I'm so like, I'm above the clouds right now. Just excited about, especially this episode. Yes, the finale. Yo, brother, brother, I'm I'm so proud of you, Azure. I really am, man. Yes, indeed. Just what you've given the world this first season. I'm excited about what's coming up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, man. It was, you know, you we talked lightly about, you know, the struggle to put in place and the follow-through, not because we don't have the desire or the ability, but just life happenings. And I say that in the most transparent way because I want somebody else that's dreaming and believing, but has life that's happening, realize you can make it happen. It's it's it's up to you. Anything that isn't or is happening, it all starts with you. So um, you got to get busy. The idea, the magic is in you, you gotta get it out. And and statistically, when it comes to the podcast space, uh, they say most people drop off at the third uh show, and they don't make it through the third show, and so they don't go the full distance. And we're here too. We set our seasons for 10 shows a season, and this is season one. This is the finale of season one, and this is episode 10, and I would not be here or close it out or to celebrate it or to raise the awareness, you know, with anybody else but you, brother. You know, we talked about getting the team together back and do a round table and kind of recap everything that we've experienced, but listen, I believe today is gonna be a reckoning for everybody. What are you thinking?
SPEAKER_01I think so too. I think so too. You get a chance to show exactly what is the mission behind this show. I want to hear from you. You know what I'm saying? We get to explore you. I think that's gonna be something that's just gonna add value to all of our lives. On top of everything that you've already presented, we've we've walked from dating to spiritual things to even little things that get on your nerves and ticks. You've covered the whole like human experience, I think, you know, in so many ways. Yeah, man. Oh my gosh. So I want to jump in. I want to jump in for everyone, and and I want to really explore starting at the the first steps, because yeah, we're jumping right in. You of all people, because a lot of people, if y'all don't know his background, this guy's done radio TV. He has been a mover and shaker, he has been a shadow worker, he has been a motivator, he has coached even for people that were on the voice, people that have made it to American Idol. He has done a lot in the industry and just in real world events. But everywhere we look, since the, what is it, the clubhouse days? I I don't even know if that's still popping, but since the clubhouse days, you noticed everybody was a subject matter expert. Everybody had their idea, everybody wanted to start their rooms, you know. People could read a paragraph and then get on Clubhouse and just keep repeating the paragraph over and over. It's crazy. But so, so what is it about your journey that has actually equipped you to not be qualified to talk, but to stand in your space out of journey? Like, because I know you've experienced heartbreak. I know you experience all of these things. How can you even stay in this confident like you do? I I I don't even understand it. It's it's something that inspires me.
SPEAKER_02Because I did, I, you know, of course, thank you for shouting out those um those spaces in life that I've shared. It's through those experiences that I realized one, I have the ability to do it, but more so the meaningfulness of doing it. When I was considering doing a podcast, you know, it took a minute. What are you gonna talk about? Talk about a lot of things. You know a lot of things, you've done a lot of things. It could be interesting, it could be appealing, it could be funny. Why not all of those things? And so for me, honestly, out of walking through my experiences in life, my concern was always to help aid people with unleashing the power that's in them, helping them to serve the life that is their highest good. Not that I had an antidote for what your life should be, but through my experiences, my pains, my losses, uh, people that weren't there mistreated me, I was misguided, misunderstood, just lessons in life without any necessarily um intent to derail me or throw me off the track, just experiences. And I, if I can help somebody else and take the wisdom, the experience, and pour it back into them, help them to navigate, um, to maybe avoid some pitfalls. Every time I've done something in the industry, it was motivated out of giving back, mentorship, helping people to understand the industry and what's necessary, and that you don't have to sell your soul or your body. Those things happen, their repercussions and consequences to them. But basically, I'm qualified because I'm just as human as the next person, and this is a human exchange that we should be always engaging one another, helping, leading, guiding, uh, rebuking, reproving, provoking, uh, supporting, understanding, not judging. Oh, that's what makes me qualified. That I have lived the life I've lived, and I realize there are voices all across the world, and I believe my intent and my subject matter and the angle from which I present will resonate with an audience.
SPEAKER_01I think that that level of transparency is something that truly does. I it's it'll shake the average person at the core. Um, because and I I'd love to talk about that, because this is really big, even in my own case. When I came to and had to do the mirror stare-down thing, like we talked about, that moment, because people don't understand how hard it might be for a lot of us to not navigate and still have a chip on our shoulder. Like to go through war, like, like, because I'm not gonna go into, I'm gonna let you tell your story, but to go into war and still not hate the enemy, but to understand your that's crazy. I'ma just how did how what? Because I I know, brother, I know, I know your story. So how let come on now.
SPEAKER_02Well, the key is I don't talk when I'm hating the enemy. I'm doing the I'm I'm doing the work. You know, I I appreciate you, brother, but you know, we've had very, very deep dives and any encounter with someone or situation, it cut me and hurt me like it did anybody else. And it took time to walk through that and face it and realize it. But what I've learned to do over time is to first face myself in it. Where was I? Why did I slack on myself? What did I allow? Or was I just an innocent bystand to somebody to somebody else's madness? You know, we all have them uh times where we grow, who we become, uh, you know, working in the in the music industry, all the things that could come with that, people in general, that's why the show in the first season is crafted the way it is. Where it talks about the why, and it talks about healing and who you are and welcome to you, because I've learned that having a firm foundation and clarity about who you are, who you're meant to be, and your place in the earth makes a difference how you navigate bumps and bruises and challenges. And what I've learned that out of everything I have done and put my hands to and put my heart in, it is always to benefit and uplift people. It always comes back to that, even though sometimes they are the bane of my existence, the engagement with people. But that is the people magic, that's the beauty of exactly who we are as we are, our best or our worst. There is still the connection heart to heart, breast to breast, and mind to mind, the exchange and the energy exchange. I'm willing to be transparent to help somebody else see themselves. And I I I put that mission on me, I put that call on myself. Um, or should I say, I accepted it and I charged myself with it. I believe that's my role in the earth because it has been a consistent theme and a proven effort in everything I've done, from music to coaching uh to uh branding and advertising, all those things always put me in a unique place with my influence and with my voice to impact other people. And even now in my career and work, you know, being an advocate for truth every day in uh my local jurisdiction and helping people in the city, that is what I'm committed to. And and what I'm doing now, brother, is very natural. I could do this in my sleep, um, I could do this when I'm upset, frustrated. It's always in me. It never goes away. It just depends on how it's presented, the platform, and the audience. And so I thought this was be a worthy, helpful, beneficial, interesting journey to take my tribe on with me.
SPEAKER_01You know, I was about to ask a follow-up for you to be able to articulate like your one main thing that drove you. You know, I like we we hear these questions. Was it your faith? Was it your family? The one thing that I'm getting from you though, brother, is that it's all of me. That would, to me, that would be your answer. It is. You know, it's not something I think the the allowing and giving yourself permission is one of the biggest steps to literally opening yourself up to all that is you. And I'm I love the fact, but you you taught me that, guys. I'm not saying something that's just original here. This I I've I've been rocking with my big brother for a long time, and I've been able to see him work, and and it's amazing to see him reflect as a mirror uh in his world. I've seen it and and seen it get reflected right back to him. So again, brother, I do acknowledge that right now. I I know I wanted to pick your brain, and I'm not trying to just give you big ups, big ups, big ups, but I'm just really, really proud of you. So I want to get into the the areas because I want to cover some of the areas that that you know you presented to the people. When it comes to um let's go to relationships. Huh? When it comes when it comes to relationships, yeah. What what are one of the things that you've learned along the way that allows you to be as much because you the one thing that you guys don't know, Sir Waljord unapologetically himself. And it's amazing to see he can talk to a general the same way that he could talk to somebody who just you know met him by the Dollar Tree. He could talk to the president of the United States the same way that he could talk to a CEO of this independent, you know, firm or whatever. And I've seen this guy watch, I'm at work like, you know, like Russell Simmons. He's always gonna be himself. I don't care if it's some convention, I don't care. And I I wanted you to touch on where, how, finding the balance where you're able to be all that is you and still compliment the other or not. Like as far as like saying, This is me, this is what I'm accepting, this is that, and still be so loving to the world, because you know good and well, a lot of us, when we do that, we're literally compartmentalizing everything else. And we're saying, Well, we're not gonna accept, and then we're not gonna talk to anybody else. It's not we're gonna accept anything. I've noticed you are really the people's jam. Like, I don't understand it, but what I I gotta I gotta pull, I gotta pull. How did you get to this point?
SPEAKER_02I I've been through all those things you just described. Disgruntled, mad. Um, I don't know if I ever really held grudges. I don't think I'm really made of that, but I faced all of those experiences and realized um I would always turn the light on myself first. Like I still do that. What could have I done better? Um, could I have a different approach to that, maybe a different response? Um, I value relationships. The value of effective communication and connecting with people. And I realize that we as a people generally live, thrive, and it is a currency. Relationship, it's a currency, it's a value to it, and engaging one another and even in spiritual matters, um, having a spiritual walk and and tied into connected to other realms and ideas about yourself, the full man. But the better you are with that internally, the better you are externally and with other people, with your family, with your neighbor, um, with the world, you know, um, where you work. It was a lot of work, brother. I have to be honest, and I think you know, you would know you've been a part of a lot of the work when I was doing it in the work, bringing you concerns and rehearsing them and talking about them. It just took time and wisdom and intentionality to be better because when I was hurt, I didn't want to stay hurt. When I was hurt, I didn't want to remain the victim. When I was hurt, I didn't want attention. When I was hurt, I didn't want it to always be activated every time a thought or idea came to light. I didn't want to be a prisoner of my hurt or my loss or my frustration, nor did I want to always be stuck on one victory. I didn't want to rest on my laurels. I always want to move forward and engage and evolve and be better and be better in my decorum and with people and how I'll impact them. So I'm very intentional. Um always through, you know, I don't think it's any rarer than anybody else. It's just a much different expression of the same thing. I'm uniquely who I am. And so I get myself. I like myself. You know, I'm in tune with me, I understand who I am, and I am confident in that. And so when someone tries to break me out of that particular framework, I don't budge. You know, I don't fight them. I'm not mad. I'm just like, that's that's not my gig. That's not me. I'm cool with that. And I'm really confident. And it took a while to get here. Um, I was brought up in the church, influenced about a lot about a lot of that pretense in church, uh, positions, all those kinds of things. That actually, you know, it means what it means, but we're talking about the character and ethics of people. And that that often is what's missing, you know. Often you find people in leadership positions, but I'm like, you know, leaders make positions, you know, not the position. You have people in positions for whatever reason, but are not qualified, don't have what it takes to properly manage the position. And I've seen the good and the bad of that uh in other jobs and in other platforms, and I took from that so I would never become that.
SPEAKER_01Wow, that this perfect segue into the next thing that I know that you're big on, but I wanted you to also explain along your path. Can you tell me some roles that you've seen even if in others or even in yourself where authenticity and I mean almost where authenticity alone was enough to fully like, you know what I mean? Like, can you explain that to me? Because I've seen you do it like it was magic. That people magic thing is something that you walk, talk, and breathe. So break that down. You know, there's a very simple approach to that.
SPEAKER_02Honest brother, being you is not as complex as think people make it. Um being authentic is being comfortable with you, knowing that you don't have to prove who you are, and that comes from surrounding yourself by good people, friendships. And we talk about our um our soul tribes. When you have people you can trust and friends, you have nothing to prove. And you need moments like that where you can just exist. I don't have to prove anything, I don't have to show up fancy, I don't have to be all the things maybe I present to the world, the public. Is there really a real demand for that? But you have to show up somewhere where you're transparent, you're vulnerable, and you can grow and you can develop. And and that experience has reinforced my ability to remain authentic. And because it became awkward being somebody else, trying to present something that wasn't me, you know, it just it became awkward because I couldn't remain consistent, I didn't know what it was, I didn't remember the last thing. And I don't think I ever really suffered from that kind of situation with imposter syndrome or things like that. I've always been pretty blunt, up forward, direct, um, no cut cards, no apologies, as I is, as I was, I will be. I've always been that kind of guy, but I think over time, wisdom has shaped it. Um, caused it to be smooth and calmer, more diplomatic in my delivery and presentation. But I've always been that kind of guy that will stand on truth, stand on honesty, and not just to go after for you know an impact, going after the stinger, just the truth and honesty. Working in music many years, working in music as a music director and and judging talent and being a coach, you know, a lot of times people were asking me information, not because they wanted my input, but they wanted agreement. So when I had feedback that was helpful or otherwise, they were taken aback because genuinely they were asking for agreement. They just asked me because of my influence. So, you know, I carried, I carried that mantle for a minute. You know, when when what's that? Uh American Talent came on with um Simon. Uh America's got talent? Yeah. Yeah, I was Simon for years in my mind. I mean, when I saw the show, I understood exactly where he was.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02You know, people have moved emotionally. Oh, that didn't. And I was proud of that because I could see the fruit either way. People would benefit from the input and move forward and grow. And some people to this day are still resentful. Yeah, but they haven't moved any further in their career, so it I wasn't in the way, they weren't ready, it wasn't the timing, or they didn't believe enough. Whatever it was, that encounter with me should not have changed their outcome or the trajectory of their trajectory of their career, if that's what the intention was. I just happened to be in voice and influence on that. And so I, you know what, I had to accept that. At first, I wanted to shrink and change it and modify it and be something different and more acceptable and more likable.
SPEAKER_01And I realized that that's that's I sort of like So would you would you say though, because I've watched you, I've watched you, and I'm I'm gonna go ahead and pull this out real quick. Would you say though the the I saw the connection happen when the more that you opened up, because I don't want the the people to think, no, this is just a cakewalk, you know, we've always been like this. This is there have been some breaking experiences that built us up to even say this. You know what I'm saying? And um, I'm just the what's the word? The importance of resilience through the process, um, the importance of um even seeing and understanding that it's you helping you is heaven helping you, regardless of your faith, all of these different things. Um, I just get all of that just from watching you um navigate life. And but would you say that you did see an even greater moment even within your own growth when you decided to see this world as your mirror and open up and say, you know what? I I gotta where I was is a little bit, it's too small for me, brother. I've I've got I Watched you. And I saw even, you know, and I'm going to say this, because this is way back in the day. People don't know. Like, you know, sometimes you're younger. You might you might talk about folks here and there. I'm going to tell you, I've watched when conversations stop about people and started moving to nothing but ideas. Stop even complaining, but move to a place where you were always talking about alignment and all of these different things. I would love for you to just quickly, before we even go into the things that are coming down the wire into this next season, can you go ahead and bring us to a nice little close? Give us some rejoicing moment, like you, it's you at the third point, and you're trying to bring us home real quick. Trying to bring you home. Yeah. Because people don't understand that acceptance of self is also a part of that is accepting your world as yourself.
SPEAKER_02And you know the thing about it we say that so quickly and fluently and very naturally, brother, but people are challenged with seeing who they are. And it starts and it remains there. That that is never not a thing. Understanding who you are in your world, in your community, in your family, in your career, um, in your soul, that is something that often we can take a lifetime to discover, and that's okay. Because in the journey, there's so many truth and wisdom and experiences that will be released to you. But honestly, I would say hovering right there, once you realize it for the remainder of your days, always doing a check-in on you, being honest about you, being true about you, being true with people, even when that changes. I was saying something the other day to somebody that said, you know, um, under this Scorpio influence, I'm the kind of cat will that will disappear middle sentence and not explain. And it sounds cold, it sounds uncaring, but um I can discern very quickly bullshit, fakeness. I see it, I smell it, I know it. And then always being in the arenas arenas that I've been in, it's it's a necessary tool, it's a private tool, but it's one of those, you know, Scorpio magic tools that I use. And so often I I respond in that way, and that's my grounding, that's my awareness. And you know, it's been off-putting to people and uncertain to people who want to hold my attention or capture my attention or understand why. And it's not because I can't communicate why, my whys, or what I'm doing. There are just some situations that I'm not going to because the other person or people or associations are aware, and um I'm doing myself a disjustice to stand there, explain, defend, and try to qualify that. So I have a healthy self-awareness. I am in tune with me. Um, I constantly work on me, but I also very key for me, I like me right now as I am. I'm not easy. I like me as I am, like right in this moment, not in the future, not with my future money, not with my future relationship, not in my future body, not my future home, not my future car, not in my future bank account. I like me right now, and there was a time where I wasn't fully aware of me, I didn't dislike me, but I vacillated because it was based on what somebody may have said or done along the way that calls me the second guest. But I really do, I get me, I appreciate me, I'm thankful for me. And it sounds silly, but it's grounding, and it really puts me in a place where I am super cool with myself, all those around me, no one around me, different people around me, or none at all. And for me, that's where it all stems. What so I can be honest about who I am, what I've experienced, and identify with people, or share share antidotes or experiences that help them to see a little closer into their own lives and families. And so, you know, with this first season being behind us and we're moving forward, you can only expect more of me in your space. And I'm gonna provoke more of you and our our listeners and our guests because I think the more of you really fulfills your life and brings you to a place of fulfillment and gives you purpose, you understand why you're here, where you are, and you operate and you move intentionally and you live from your heart. And there's enough in the world that is made us mean, you know, disagreeable. But I choose to still honestly, there's a song by um Barbara Watans, um, I believe. And it talks about just having hard experiences from love to relationships to losses, but I still, at the end of the day, when I when I come back to it, I still believe everything that I've prayed for, that I have written and manifested. I believe spirit is always moving for me. I believe the universe is always conspiring to advance me and push me forward as I pay attention to signs and signals, synchronicities, and those things that are indicators of what's happening, what's to come, where I should be. And I do that independently. I do that without the voices, without the push of other people. And I only take insights that I know matter and see me beyond what is actually visible and can speak into my life. So I surround myself with people that equally believe in me, like me, support me, my theories and factors, and I insulate and build on that. And so, all of that, I don't know at what time, brother, it really took hold, but it happens over time, it happens with healing when you have to disconnect with uh rotten relationships in your life or experiences or or jobs and opportunities just to shift with people. There have been some significant times from a divorce uh to other um committed relationships that really turn my heart inside out, and it caused me to face the reality of not only what I was experiencing, but what I allowed myself to be a part of, what I faced, um, and what happened during those times. And I had to walk away from them, heal myself, forgive what had happened, let it go, and move forward and constantly realize that in times in life it may be activated again by a movie, a word, a thought, yeah, a theme, an idea. But what I don't do now is respond to it the way it happened when it was fresh. I understand it may always be tender, but I use it as a tool to remain sensitive, to remain empathetic to other people, to remain patient, uh, to be less judgy and critical. Um, because being human is yet beautiful, mystical, magical, and supernatural, but it also is very practical. And yeah, it is messy, yeah. All those things, even in healing, none of that is just really cool, cool. Like I talked about in the healing show. Unless you've unless you've healed, you can sing and shout and talk real loud. I don't care who you are. And I said it then and I mean it, you know, from practitioner to spiritual leader, even with your schooling, to address, you know, the topic of healing, emotionally, psychological, and what have you. But unless you've done it yourself, you're clueless about it because no one knows until you're there. It's messy, it's uncertain. Um, you know, coming from uh religious background, you know, the word is delivered. You know, you gotta get delivered, you gotta get free, you gotta let go. Um, or some of the practical statements like, you know, time heals all wounds. The effort, the effort you put in it will heal it. Time just gives you distance between the impact and the experience, but it does not heal the wounds. You have to do that, and sometimes you live with a scar until the end. That's the thing about healing and pain, people don't talk about. They want it always to be rosy, always to be something else, not. And then when you wake up one day and you're 10 years down the road, you're like, this thing still bothers me in that kind of way, but I know how to live with it. That's what I'm saying. Healing is its messy thing, and life is all the things that they are, but they're all the beautiful things. So I've learned how to take the mess, understand it, respect it, and move forward, and find as much as I can a message, a mission, and map out my life through what I've experienced so I can be better, and my better can improve somebody else's life.
SPEAKER_01Well, on that note, thank you for making us better through your words, the things that you're doing, your circle of friends, and just how you're enriching our own lives by being as transparent as you are, brother. Again, y'all, this is the final finale. This is the episode, the extravaganza of the one the amazing mind that is Sir Wall. I call him Ajor, my brother. What? What yes. But no, what? But no, this yet funky funky but chic. Now, I mean, even this should give you even more meaning and more to just that name and the title of the show. Um, that you know, it's really it can be surface, it can be deep, it can be loving, it can be uh knockout wrestling with thought. But the beautiful thing is that you're going to be enriched and you're gonna feel seen even to yourself by the end of it. I have been enriched this entire season, not just by aiding in the production of the show, but just listening. Once we get it all done, listening, the fact that it speaks to me, I'm amazed. I'm amazed, you know. So thank you again, brother. I need you to go ahead and take us out, man. Give us a last wonderful thought to close out this amazing season, brother, and we out.
SPEAKER_02Listen, all the things you mentioned when we talked about in the previous shows, they're just experiences you didn't know you needed. Um, that is something that came to us when we were creating the show, looking back at everything that we've come through in life that brought us to this moment. Didn't know I needed to be in that space. Didn't I didn't know I needed to uh have taken that particular road, but that road has now covered my life and brought me to a place. So as we move forward, I'm just inviting people all around the world, you know, stand by with us, rock with us. Funky funky but chic is here to really elevate and we're we're renegades, where we we got some class with us, you know, we're keeping things sophisticated, but we're tearing down walls and we're tearing down walls in our own lives so that we can be everything that we were created to be to impact and elevate ourselves, um, to uplift the world, to impact everybody we engage long-term, just a moment on the subway, to have a purposeful and meaningful life. And you know what? Add some color to life to just enjoy living. Everything is not, you know, a rat race. There's not a timeline, a deadline for everything. There is just the existing and allowing spirit to guide and lead you in all of your affairs, and it is my desire and goal that people live to the fullest their to the fullest of their ability. And the goal that I want to play in that moment is to aid them in living a life that serves their highest good, whatever that may be. Funky, funky basic is a vehicle to help hold the mirror up and uh shout very, very uh loud to the top of our voice. Welcome, welcome, welcome to you.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, welcome to you. At a door, yes indeed, brother. Yes indeed. Love you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we thank you for being here. Thank you, brother, for for carrying me this season. Um, my brother, you know, he's modest and he is the he is what you hear. You know, we produce this show, we come together with ideas. Uh he did the theme song in Five Minutes Flat, you know, took some some words and some content that I'd share with him, and it was back to me, and it's befitting. Uh, I'm encouraging you to to really tap into your tribe, you know, tap into the collective, you know, you're trying to do things and create things. You should have people around you. If not, you should begin to seek people out around you that can help you become who you are. They need to believe in what you do, your theories, your factors, trust that, and they should be able to make a contribution. If they're not, you need some new friends. Period. You just you just yeah, what's what's this is us hanging out, eating or brunching or whatever you do, and you won't have nothing else to offer? Nah, you need some, you, you need a better balance, you know, or or just set some boundaries and get the friends that can help you and hang out with them on the side. I'm just saying, people, there need to be people in your camp to do what you need to do, to fulfill mission, so that you collide your ideas, you collaborate, you move forward, you help yourself elevate, and you also get them on the path that is destined for their life. So along the way, we just keep it what? Funky, and we keep it chic. It's the final episode of season one, it's the finale. We'll be back in a couple days. Hold on. Please subscribe to the show so that when new shows are uploaded, you'll be alerted right away. I love you, Jafar.
SPEAKER_01I love you, Al Jordan, and we love y'all too. Looking forward to this next season.
